Wide Area Networking

Local Area Networking and System Administration
We have extensive experience installing and maintaining mid and small size offices with:
  • Windows NT/2000 Server, Novell Netware as well as Berkley FreeBSD, Slackware Linux, Red Hat Linux, Solaris, SCO Unix, SCO XENIX, and UnixWare.
  • Network installations with category 5 cabling layouts, backup utilities programs in Perl for Linux servers,
  • Hardware selection and installations and
  • Problem solving and 24-hour network support.

Wireless Development
  • Field-tested experience in developing wireless products and services for the enterprise and mobile professionals. Specifically focused on transaction processing and remote access to hosted applications and data on handheld devices running Palm OS.
  • Additionally, versed in development for radio frequency handheld scanners for updating warehouse inventory and real-time freight check in utilizing Symbol devices.

Database and Application Design
These are typical applications we designed, developed and installed:
  • Real-time package tracking using Perl, SQL and DB2 routines designed to manipulate DB/2 database on IBM AS/400 for access via Web front end.
  • Unified enterprise accounting application integrated with Real World accounting modules with in-house system. included: Accounts receivable, Accounts payable and Order Entry processes with Micro Focus Cobol and ACU Cobol.
  • Efficient decentralized remote office inventory tool utilizing a distributed Borland Delphi backend. It provided patent pending lightweight access to corporate centralized database from 15 countries.
  • Great Plains Dynamics integration and customized solutions of financials, e-business, sales and marketing, and payroll modules.
  • National sales and revenue generation tool utilizing Goldmine application server.
  • Microsoft SQL Server.

Web Services
Fully versed in front and back end Web application services including programming, look & feel and navigation components:

  • CGI based programs for real-time service and inventory retrieval and updates.
  • Apache and IIS Web server installation, configuration and maintenance.
  • Provisioning local and Internet based mail services such as Microsoft Outlook, Express and Sendmail via Linux based machines. Perl and CGI scripts were written for data manipulation, back end server system administration and daily maintenance.
